Following a
their very successful tour in the spring, to promote their debut album: Times, folk-roots acoustic guitar duo
Hickman & Quinn have organised a series of dates leading up to Christmas, but this time as a TRIO!
as their being accompanied by Larry
Melton.
The tour begins in Tamworth on
1st December here at: Cheque-Mates Folk ‘N’ Roots Music Club

Hickman & Quinn:
James Hickman & Chris Quinn, have been working on other projects since they last played together.
James teamed up and toured with virtuoso violinist Dan Cassidy and has plans to continue this again in 2012 as part of the Dan Cassidy Swing Quartet.
Chris has just returned from a tour with Dutch blues guitarist Arthur
Ebeling.
As a duo Chris and James have already supported the likes of: The Jools Holland
Orchestra; Katie Melua; and The Levellers.
And will
be supporting more big names
next summer.
Melton:
Larry Melton is a well established and popular double bass player, in demand not only in his native state of Maryland but across the USA and throughout Europe.
He's a member of many bands,
and owns a recording studio and runs an artist management company.
And he's gained serious recognition as a musician for the session work on Eva Cassidy’s Songbird album.
Commenting on the forthcoming tour, Chris Quinn said:
“Even though James and I are very busy with respective projects, we couldn’t let the opportunity of playing with Larry Melton pass us by.
We were also keen to follow up the positive response received back in the spring.
So a second Hickman & Quinn album is due next year so we thought it would be good to showcase some of the new material on this tour as well.”
A
Divers Mix:
James, Chris & Larry will be playing a mix of folk, bluegrass & swing; traditional tunes & their own songs.
So expect exquisite guitar lines, rich harmonies & 'velvety' bass from this versatile trio!
They create a great atmosphere, with a mix of jazz blues and folk with self-penned songs, an excellent night of quality music guaranteed. Not to be missed by guitar
enthusiasts !
