Helping To Keep Local Music Live !

pictures at the Tackeroo

The Tackeroo is one of those rare places, a great space, where both wannabe's and professionals alike, can strut their stuff.

It has a great and long reputation, as one of the few remaining venues that hosts regular live bands every weekend.

So as you'd expect, it has a great stage area and PA system, which helps to make even nervous first-timers sound amazing.

The regular open-mic is taking a break right now, but hopefully it will return later.

What folks are saying about the Tackeroo...

What a nice surprise to see Matt Thorpe & Chris Perrin back on stage together again, it was really great to see them, especially as none of their performance magic as deserted them.

Along with the many other talented performers, it was another good night of varied and LIVE ENTERTAINMENT !

If Jools Holland wants to know what constitutes Great Live Entertainment, he should come to the Tackeroo !

Mike

I'm pleased to see this open-mic back on again, and these past weeks have been as good as ever.

As well as being a fine musician, Tony Wall is doing a good job as the new host in residence.

I hope both the performers and the public will continue support this great night of Live Music.

...And if you've not been yet, then please give it a try, it's a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and it certainly helps to brighten up the week, with some really talented performers, of all styles and from all walks of life.

Pete

I have the pleasure of playing alongside some very accomplished musicians at the Tackeroo most Thursdays.

The music is always varied with most styles catered for, and new visitors are made most welcome by the `open mike night` organiser, Paul Walker...

Whose enthusiasm, verve and vast repertoire makes him the perfect host.

Jan

Jans being modest (as ever) because he's an accomplished musician too.

(Jan... stop hiding your talent under a bushel)

Last night was another great night at the Tack, with many new faces adding to the mix of really great sounds !

From the novice performers, some making their first tentative steps into the music business, to the seasoned rockers with many impressive accolades to their musical credit.

So... whether you are a performer, or a listener, the Tack is the place to be on a Thursday night, regardless of your musical tastes...

After-all where else can you hear such a wide range of musical styles, played by so many different people, in one evening, in one place, and for FREE !

Wow !!   What another amazing night at the Tack on Thursday!

Once again it was another amazing mix of much loved battle-ready-regulars and new artists.

And as ever: Our inimitable host Paul Walker was in fine form.

The Indubitable Coldshot: Matt, Chris & Pete got the joint rockin, with their invigorating interpretation of The Blues.

But the real surprise of the evening, was the much welcomed return to the Tack of Laszlo's Diary...
And they didn't fail to impress either, with their 17 minute rendition (Yes 17 minutes !)
of 'Another Brick in the Wall'

I just can't wait for the DVD to come out, I've placed may order already !
