Sandra, Tim and Bob...
Run this great Folk Club and Open Mic

Cheque-Mates has been running now
for over 20 years !

And they attribute their continued success, partly to the great interest that still exists in the folk/roots genre, and the shortage of suitable venues.

There's not many gigs for folk/roots musicians in pubs these days, a situation that can only get much worse
in the current economic climate.

Sandra, Tim and Bob: Are very talented musicians
    in their own right...

Sandra and Tim in Claret

Sandra and Tim Robinson:
Are also part of the eclectic Resident band 'Claret'

Bob Allaway: Is a very talented Singer/Songwriter.

Cheque-mates is run for people who enjoy a concert format with an emphasis on a semi acoustic atmosphere, and the regular guest nights use a full concert P.A.

All Forms of Acoustic Music are Very Welcome...
Everyone is welcome... whether your a performer, and want to join in, or just like to relax and watch.

So Why Don't You Give it a Try...
If your fed-up with overpriced beer, in cramped, uncomfortable, noisy pubs...
And want to enjoy top quality acoustic music in a friendly relaxed setting,
then please give Cheque-Mates a try...

And I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

At the weekend:
We had a good time catching up with old friends and fellow performers
, and our own gigs went well...

We were at our old haunt the Prince of Wales, Cambridge St on Saturday with a great PA sound thanks again!!

Tim did one of his solo sets on guitar at the City Inn Cafe Bar, the same venue as for the Birmingham Jazz, Commuter Jazz and blues events through the summer.

We also saw Elfynn Folk band featured at last weeks Moseley folk festival, on the main stage of the Symphony Hall to Launch Folk for Free at the Symphony Hall Foyer, but unfortunately for us it was on Thursday, the same night as our club, at 5.30, but a big move forward to popularise 'folk in the public eye', if you understand what I mean!!

So....a lot of things going on next weekend!!

Sandra and Tim

PS I have sold some tickets for Joe Broughton and Kevin Dempsey I will have tickets next week, buy before the event to get discount!!

We need your support this is a top pro act don't miss them 30 September
