‘My Mate Mark’ is a fusion of ~ rock ~ meets folk ~ meets blues ~ meets jazz!

They are a hard working midlands based acoustic guitar and vocal duo covering a range of genres. Their broad range of material has just naturally came about through their differing musical tastes.

Mark W (aka Urisk):  Comes from a more folk/singer-songwriter background, where...

Mark B:  Is more blues/rock/jazz. 

And the resulting combination definitely makes for interesting listening.
Their broad ranging repertoire works wonders on general audiences in a variety of situations. They can tailor their material to suit, and can feel equally at home playing to a general pub audience, or in Folk Clubs, Blues Clubs, or a dedicated acoustic night….. etc. 

And in addition to their distinctive guitar and vocal styles...
Their core line up of two guitars and two vocals was supplemented from the off, with Mark W on occasional ‘flat-backed bouzouki’, and bodrhan, and Mark B on chromatic harmonica. 

And their already broad ranging sound has recently been supplemented with a little bit of electric guitar from Mark B where appropriate.

Anyone who has seen ‘My Mate Mark’ are generally impressed with their distinctive and often unique treatments of both unusual and familiar material. They work hard to avoid the obvious…
